Dear all,

It’s Anna here! I just wanted to write a little note to you all, thanking you for your support during my marathon journey this year.

The positive words of encouragement, donations and kind messages I’ve received from our customers, my colleagues, family, friends and even the police man at the startline has been utterly amazing - every one of them has meant the world and really did spur me on throughout the race.

Crossing that finish line on Sunday, I just thought ‘WOW’ - I had achieved. I pushed through when it got tough and, although I’m feeling a little sore now (walking down the stairs is proving to be a bit of a struggle!), I have the biggest grin on my face because I feel proud and strong - not just physically but mentally too.

As many of you will have read in our last blog post, I ran for a charity close to my heart - Whizz Kidz.

The charity transforms the lives of disabled children by providing the vital equipment, support and life skills they need to reach their full potential, helping young people with disabilities achieve the independence and confidence they deserve.

Throughout the whole race, I thought about how lucky I was to be able to actually run and how the money I’d raised would be making a difference to the lives of these children. No matter how much the amount, every donation you have so kindly given has created that difference. Thank you. You really will change young people’s lives.

I also wanted to use this to encourage you all to do something for others. This year, participants of the London Marathon have raised over a billion pounds for charity - it just goes to show how amazing humanity can be when we think of one another. It doesn’t have to be a marathon or an Ironman, a 10k or a sponsored walk. It can be something as small as helping someone with their shopping bags or offering to make your colleague a cup of tea. Just something that makes someone's lives that little bit better, puts a smile on their face and makes their day. To me, that is absolutely priceless,

With that in mind, I just wanted to share a lovely quote from a rather well-known and brilliant lady:

Our greatness has always come from people who expect nothing and take nothing for granted - folks who work hard for what they have, then reach back and help others after them. - Michelle Obama

All my love,
